exactly! unless they do some crazy time skip, theyre not gonna be able to properly wrap up the war. it feels like its going to end in the middle of it all. for a show supposedly about ‘a boy and his dog on magic adventures’ its taken so many turns about growing up and the nature of war. kinda fucked, imo.
adventure time’s in it’s last season, right? i feel like there are plot threads that are getting started that aren’t going to be able to be wrapped up in what i assume is the second half (or finale) of the season. like, it took ages to fully resolve the lich arc. they just wrapped up jake’s arc w discovering who he is, but it introduced betty+normal man’s new arc of getting margles back. the war with gumbald is, like, imminent, and i dont know how theyll do that in 11 minutes. the gumbald thread was just started this season and i feel like its too soon for it to end with all that theyre introducing
edit: i just finished watching gumbaldia and i KNEW they wouldnt be able to wrap up the war just like that. fern is clearly not on gumbald’s side fully, and having ice king on gumbald’s side is going to be his downfall. princess isnt going to like?? get out of this either tho it’s not going to end well. highkey i thought they were gonna leave jake in space. this final season just seems to be getting bleaker and bleaker in the most technicolor way and its a little unsettling
