So y’know how both the crit role cast and fandom like to joke about how Taliesin is secretly a fae trickster or an immortal eldritch being of unspeakable power?
Hmmmm Let’s have a little Critical Role foreshadowing roundup, shall we?
Caleb – There’s a Lot. Apparently ‘last night’ sucked so hard it required a 20-hour nap, and we don’t know why. Caleb briefly gave up magic before resuming his practice, and we don’t know why. He seems leery of the magic academy, and we don’t know why. He’s an obsessive book collector, and he’s very protective of his two heirloom books, and we don’t know why. He doesn’t know what a bath is, and we don’t know why.
Nott – More than I thought on a first watch! Someone’s after her, and they may or may not be wearing distinctive cloaks. I also don’t know how young she’s supposed to be, but she could be like…a Literal Child, which immediately raises the classic D&D question of Where Are The Parents. Also, alcoholism and kleptomania, which are both even scarier if she’s young.
Jester – Besides the fact that her patron god/goddess is still unknown, there’s also “I’m lookingk for my father c: “
Beau – Confirmed the existence of 2 parents, which is pretty above average for D&D. There may be some strife because apparently they ‘wanted a son’. Other than that I think she just wants a drink and a girlfriend right now.
Fjord – Don’t 🙂 touch 🙂 my 🙂 falchion 🙂 made even spookier because Hexblade lore would make that falchion a sentient weapon carved from the Shadowfell. I hope it has a cool name and a good spoopy Matt voice c:
Mollymauk – He gives Jester a Moon and Shadow card and asks if they mean anything to her, ‘tiefling to tiefling’. Also, how does a blood hunter end up in a carnival? Also, it’s Taliesin fucking Jaffe, so I’m sure Molly’s got 80 things going on.
Yasha – Everything about her is a Mystery, but on the bright side I’m now absolutely positive I’m Gay.
