This is my attempt at compiling climate/location information and source material.
Zone Map- I did this based off of Battery City being ex Los Angeles. That would explain why the map cuts off at the West. (The Pacific Ocean!) I also divided the land between mild climate and desert land. It’s not entirely accurate if you look at a physical map, but it does give a general idea of about where the environment changes. Now let’s talk weather-
Death Valley is the hottest place in the fucking world. It gets up to 120 F in the Summer. (57 C.) You know when you get in a hot car that’s been sitting in the summer sun, and it’s so intense it hurts to have your eyes open? Yup. Fuck that.
In contrast, Spring/Winter are much more tolerable. Winter temperatures are mild, basically only reaches freezing at night. But, wind! That’s a Spring thing. So let’s talk Dust Storms.
Dust Storms are HellWinds. It’s when God throws sands at you. They happen in dry, sandy places. Moisture compacts soil- but in the desert after a long drought, that shit gets all over the place. You have to cover your eyes, mouth, and nose if you don’t wanna be breathing sediment. Dust storms can be small- they may only last a few minutes, but if The Witch really feels like throwing you a challenge, they can last for fucking days.
Next thing I wanna talk about? Acid Rain. That actually sounds a lot scarier than it is, but still. It’s caused by pollution, and it fucks shit up. It doesn’t melt your skin off or anything- but it causes environmental harm. Fuck your crops.
Now let’s discuss nuclear fallout. :v) (That’s residual radioactive material from a nuclear blast.) It contaminates things. It contaminates w a t e r. I’m assuming that the Pig Bombs/The Analog Wars/The Helium Wars involved nuclear weapons here. Lingering radiation from that shit could last for 5 years. Get fucked, Fun Ghoul.
Anyways, that’s it for todays issue of Zone Reference. It’s 2am, I’m tired. If any of this is wrong, feel free to correct me. I won’t care though, it’s late.
