I put this video together a year or so ago and thought it would be appropriate to upload upon the release of “Fake Your Death.”
This is a twelve minute compilation of harder-to-find My Chemical Romance pre-production videos. Most, if not all, of these videos are from Revenge. There’s some joking around, there’s some undeniable Ray Toro quotes, there’s some silly pajama pants, and there’s some really great insight into how they wrote and practiced as a band.
Hope you guys enjoy it. If you know of any pre-production videos I don’t have here, let me know so I can add them in.
Until we see what May Death Never Stop You has to offer us, this can hold us over. Good ol’ days.
• Griffin uploaded a demo of Game Maker studio 2 with Pat to Polygon, where he shows off two mostly functional games that he designed himself and programmed in about 30 hours
• Griffin uploaded the Adventure Zone as a filler episode for MBMBAM when Justin was on parental leave.
• In the Adventure Zone, when Griffin first started composing original tracks, he prefaced it with “I’m just starting out, so I’m not good at it…” These soundtracks raised over $10,000 for charity.
What I’m saying is that Griffin could basically make Undertale 2 over a weekend if he was bored. I’m not sure I can comprehend that level of power
This reminds me of Clint’s foreword in The Adventure Zine where he mentions that Griffin taught himself to read at 2 ½ years old because he would watch his brothers read Final Fantasy dialogue out loud and…
decided to put all four together ! killjoys inspired by @transboykobrakid‘s killjoy moodboards (ps thanks for letting me tag u like 87482 times in each post lmao)
Let’s start with some oldies, no introductions necessary, we all know and love them and D H Peligro is an awesome drummer! Nazi Punx Fuck Off!
X-Ray Spex:
Another classic! My girl Poly Styrene was showing the world that Punk ain’t white from the get-go. Feminist, black rights activist, singer/songwriter. Part time sweetheart, full time Badass
Bad Brains:
One of the pioneers of hardcore, mixing reggae and soul into Punk and making something equal to, or greater than, the sum of its components
Ho99o9:
Speaking of hardcore, Ho99o9 hit the scene like a sledge hammer a few years back. They combine hip hop with hardcore in a brain melting, headbang-inducing noize trip that has to be experienced.
Big Joanie:
Time for some Riot Grrrls! Uk Afro-Punk all girl 3 piece. Their goal as a band is to make music for black kids and create a space for representation. Mad funky and fighting the good fight, what’s not to love?
Nova Twins:
More Riot Grrrls! Grime/Punk duo with more bass than you can shake a stick at. Genuinely, it sounds like Georgia is trying to snap the damn instrument in half. Add some striking and distinctive vocals and you’re on to a winner. Sick.
The OBGMs:
The name stands for ‘Ooohh Baby Gimmi Mores’ and it’s pretty fucking accurate. Garage Punk band rocking in from Toronto, these boys a straight up mosh-bait. 3 tracks and you are guaranteed to punch your Nan. Try me.
